COMMANDER OAB VISITS TROOPS

Operation Amani Boni (OAB) Commander Brigadier William Kamoiro, accompanied by Superintendent of Police Mr. Sammy Rotich visited troops stationed at Mangai Border Patrol Unit, Mararani Special Operations Group, and Basuba General Service Unit in Lamu County.

The visit aimed to assess the operational preparedness, welfare, and morale of the troops.
The troops are actively engaged in countering and degrading al-shabaab and other terrorist groups’ activities within the vast Boni Forest. The presence of security camps in these areas has enabled peace-loving locals to resume their daily activities, reassured that militant threats are being deterred. The community continues to pursue peace and strongly disapproves of militant remnants disrupting their livelihoods.
Addressing the troops, Brig. Kamoiro expressed gratitude for their unwavering commitment and sacrifices in serving the nation.

“I urge you to maintain the same spirit and dedication throughout your duty. The operation has recorded successes, and I can not thank you enough for that. The KDF command is fully committed to supporting you in executing your duties,” he said.

He also emphasized the importance of a multi-agency approach to operations, urging troops to continue collaborating with other security agencies and local communities in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.

OAB has continued to enhance security within the coastal areas of Lamu, Tana River, Garissa, and Kilifi counties, significantly improving the livelihoods of residents.
