The Commander Kenya Army, Lieutenant General David Tarus, recently visited the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops deployed under Operation Amani Boni (OAB) at various Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) in the area of responsibility. The visit provided an opportunity for the Commander to engage directly with the troops, address their concerns, and assess their mission readiness.
During his address to the troops, Lt. Gen. Tarus commended their dedication to combating terrorism and their significant role in fostering sustainable peace and security. He recognized the troops’ unwavering commitment to safeguarding the territorial integrity of Kenya, acknowledging that their efforts have played a crucial role in maintaining peace in the country.

The Commander also commended the troops for building strong relationships with local communities within the Boni region and along the Kenya-Somalia border. He highlighted the importance of Civil-Military Cooperation in achieving mission success, noting that positive interactions with the community are vital to securing long-term stability.
“It is worth mentioning that you have nurtured a good working relationship with the local communities, which is critical to achieving our objectives,” Lt. Gen. Tarus remarked.
