Defence Principal Secretary Dr. Patrick Mariru chaired the Ulinzi Prime Health Services Advisory Board meeting today at the Defence Headquarters.
The meeting brought together officials from the Ministries of Defence, Health, and Treasury and Economic Planning. The Advisory Board serves as the technical oversight body for the Fund.
The agenda focused on reviewing the progress of Ulinzi Prime Health Services Fund since the enactment of its regulations by parliament. The Managing Director of the Fund, Brigadier (Dr.) Odhiambo, who also heads the Secretariat, presented a roadmap for full operationalization.
The Fund aims to open Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) hospitals to certain cadres of public officers, allowing them to access quality healthcare services at Level IV, V, and VI military facilities at affordable rates.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to support the government’s push for universal healthcare.
