Commander Kenya Army, Lieutenant General David Tarus, welcomed United Kingdom Commander Field Army, Lieutenant General Michael Richard Elvis, at the Headquarters Kenya Army in Nairobi.
The two Commanders discussed areas of mutual interest and collaboration, highlighting the long-standing partnership between Kenya and the United Kingdom, especially in security and counterterrorism efforts.
Lieutenant General Tarus emphasized the importance of the Kenya-UK relationship, which has been marked by extensive cooperation on security matters.
Lieutenant General Elvis expressed the UK’s commitment to enhancing defense cooperation, information sharing, and stability for both nations, while also thanking the Kenyan government for its continued support.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Deputy Army Commander Major General Hassan, British High Commission Defence Adviser to Kenya Brigadier Olly Bryant, Colonel Defence Relations Officer Colonel Olando, senior officers, officers and service members from both countries.
