As the world ushers in the Christmas and New Year season, the Deputy Army Commander Major General (Maj Gen) William Shume representing Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General Peter Njiru on 22 December 2022 visited patients admitted at the Defence Forces Memorial Hospital (DFMH) and Nairobi Regional Hospital (NRH) to wish them quick recovery, give them the season’s greetings and wish them good tidings in the New Year.
Maj Gen Shume encouraged the patients to remain steadfast in the midst of the misfortunes assuring them of the Kenya Army’s leadership support towards their full recovering.
In the two hospitals, Maj Gen Shume presented gifts, get well soon cards and spent time with the patients sharing messages of hope. He expressed his gratitude to the soldiers for their dedication and selfless sacrifice in service to the nation. He also visited the New Born Unit where he congratulated the mothers for receiving their bundles of joy. The patients include KDF personnel and their dependants.
The Deputy Army Commander was accompanied by Chief of Personnel – Headquarters Kenya Army Brigadier Samuel Kimani and Chief of Army Medical Brigadier (Dr) Japheth Ndegwa among other senior military officers.
