Military Wives Association of Kenya hosted the spouses of a delegation from the 64th National Defence College in the Federal Republic of India.
The delegation comprised of representatives from Army, Navy, Coastguard and Airforce Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) as well as spouses from Zambia, Brazil and Tanzania Defence Forces.
Representing MWAK Chairlady was Rose Ng’ang’a who expressed her delight towards the spouses’ courtesy visit noting that MWAK has looked up to India’s tri-service Wives Welfare Associations due to their seasoned experience and successful projects witnessed throughout the years.
“MWAK is always seeking to learn new ways to improve the welfare of KDF families. Through these kinds of engagements, we get an opportunity to share ideas and apply some of them to our association and we are certain that you can borrow some valuable aspects from us as well.”
Mrs. Mohina Soni, who was representing The NDC’s Commandant’s Spouse and Chair of AWWA Mrs. Anju Bains, appreciated MWAK for the gracious hospitality extended to her team and echoed Rose Ng’ang’a’s sentiments on building meaningful relationships among spouses both within the associations and across other countries. She commended MWAK for all the programs it is involved in and voiced her confidence towards more fruitful projects in the near future.
During the interactive session, the spouses touched on leadership structures, financial independence among wives, programs for the vulnerable in the society and partnerships among others.
Seven Military Wives and 14 Indian spouses were present.
