The Commandant of Kenya Naval Training College (KNTC), Colonel Benson Karuimbo, presided over the opening ceremony of the Senior Leadership Course (SLC) and Junior Leadership Course (JLC) 04 for the 2024/2025 year. The ceremony took place on 17 March 2025 at the 15 Kenya Rifles (15 KR) in Mariakani.
The leadership courses are designed to empower Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) with essential skills and knowledge in leadership, command, and management. The training aims to strengthen decision-making abilities reinforce authority and command presence, and support professional development and career progression within the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).
In his remarks, Colonel Karuimbo highlighted the importance of the courses in preparing participants to take on Leadership, Command, and Management (LCM) responsibilities across the KDF. He congratulated the trainees for successfully qualifying for the final cohort of SLC and JLC in the current year and urged them to approach the training with dedication and discipline.
“Congratulations to all students for successfully going through the selection process for the last cohort of SLC and JLC this year. As you are aware, the objectives of these courses are to improve and equip you with the knowledge and skills in leadership, command, and management necessary to undertake LCM functions in the KDF at large. I trust that these objectives will be achieved,” said Colonel Karuimbo.
The ceremony was attended by officers and service members.
