PRESIDENT RUTO ASSIGNS KDF TO OVERSEE KEY INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS IN NYANDARUA

President and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, His Excellency Dr. William Ruto, today commissioned proposed infrastructure works at Ol Kalou Stadium and the new wing of JM Kariuki Memorial Hospital in Nyandarua County. During his visit, the President assigned the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), under the Ministry of Defence (MoD), to supervise the completion of these critical projects.

The two initiatives aim to enhance community well-being by promoting sports and talent development while strengthening healthcare services in the county.

Speaking at Ol Kalou Stadium, the President underscored the project’s significance in nurturing local talent and fostering community engagement.

“This stadium holds great promise, not just for sports enthusiasts but for the youth of this region. It will provide a platform for talent to shine, strengthen community bonds, and contribute to the overall physical and mental well-being of Nyandarua residents. We are committed to ensuring its timely completion and opening to the public,” he stated.

President Ruto reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving healthcare, noting that the expansion of JM Kariuki Memorial Hospital will significantly boost medical service delivery.

“Healthcare is one of our top priorities. The expansion of JM Kariuki Memorial Hospital will enhance access to specialized medical care, improve patient services, and broaden treatment options for the people of Nyandarua,” he emphasized.

Representing the Ministry of Defence during the visit was Principal Secretary Dr. Patrick Mariru.
