On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Moi Air Base (MAB) was bustling with energy as the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) held their End-Year Fitness Challenge. The event was led by Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas Malile, Commanding Officer Central Supply Depot (CSD), representing Brigadier Bernard Oluoch, the Base Commander MAB.
The challenge united participants from the Kenya Army, Kenya Air Force, and Kenya Navy, promoting camaraderie and esprit de corps among Services of KDF. Designed to enhance physical fitness, the event tested participants’ endurance with four hours of continuous exercise and aerobics, led by KDF trainers who introduced a variety of workout routines to keep the sessions both rigorous and engaging.
In his opening remarks, Lt Col Malile emphasized the importance of physical fitness within the KDF, stating, “Physical fitness is key and paramount in all sectors of the Kenya Defence Forces. I urge all participants here to support and motivate one another in maintaining high fitness standards.”
The End-Year Fitness Challenge not only underscored the commitment of KDF personnel to physical excellence but also strengthened inter-service bonds, showcasing the unity and shared determination that define the Kenya Defence Forces.
