MINISTRY OF DEFENCE SENSITIZES DHQ CIVILIAN STAFF ON DRAFT CIVILIAN POLICY

As part of the ongoing public sensitization on the Proposed Defence Civilian Staff Policy (DCSP), the policy technical team today engaged civilian staff deployed at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters.

Leading the exercise was Secretary Administration, Mr. Isaac Masinde, who was joined by the policy technical team comprising military and civilian officers from the Ministry, alongside a representative from the Public Service Commission.

Speaking on behalf of the Principal Secretary for Defence, Dr. Patrick Mariru, Mr. Masinde highlighted the importance of the policy, noting that it will play a key role in promoting a conducive work environment and fostering harmonious relations between military and civilian personnel within the Ministry.

The Commandant Defence Headquarters Camp Administration Unit, Brigadier Benard Korir, welcomed the civilian staff to the session and commended them for their seamless collaboration with uniformed colleagues. He encouraged active participation in the discussions.

Similar to previous engagements, civilian staff at the headquarters were given an opportunity to share their views and contribute to the refinement of the policy for incorporation into the final document.

Also present were the Director of Human Resource Management and Development, Dr. Lilian Nzavi, and the Chief of Inspectorate at Defence Headquarters, Brigadier Faustino Lobaly, both of whom are leading the technical team, alongside other senior military and civilian officers from the Ministry.
