MINISTRY OF DEFENCE HOLDS WORKSHOP FOR PRODUCTIVITY MAINSTREAMING CHAMPIONS

The Ministry of Defence (MoD), through its Department of Policy, Strategy, and Planning, organized a four-day workshop for Productivity Mainstreaming Champions aimed at reviewing the Ministry’s productivity metrics for the 2024/25 financial year.

The workshop underscores the Ministry’s dedication to enhancing its productivity index in line with the Performance Contract. By equipping officers with the necessary knowledge and skills, the initiative seeks to ensure effective implementation of strategies for excellence in performance across all departments and the Ministry at large.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, the Director of the Department of Policy, Strategy, and Planning, Mr. Kennedy Okondo, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to improving its productivity metrics. He encouraged participants to maximize the learning opportunities provided during the session and to focus on refining metrics that would drive the Ministry’s performance to new heights.

Mr. Okondo also extended his gratitude to the facilitators for their dedication and support in helping the Ministry achieve its goals.

The workshop was facilitated by officers from the National Productivity and Competitiveness Centre (NPCC) under the Ministry of Labour, which is mandated to implement productivity programs in both public and private organizations.

The Productivity Mainstreaming Champions represent all departments within the Ministry, ensuring a comprehensive approach to embedding productivity practices across the organization.
