KENYA SIGNAL COY 3 (KENSIG 3) TROOPS CONDUCTS JOINT FIRE DRILLS

On 28th March 2025, the Kenya Signal 3 Company (KENSIG 3), stationed at Himbi Camp in Goma town, conducted a joint fire-fighting drill alongside their counterparts, the Indian Rapid Deployed Battalion (INDRDB). The primary objective of the exercise was to ensure that the troops are well-equipped with the essential skills to respond effectively to potential fire hazards in the mission area.

The drill focused on several critical fire-fighting techniques, including the correct use of fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and fire beaters. Additionally, the troops were trained in casualty evacuation procedures, ensuring that injured personnel can be safely and efficiently transported away from danger zones. Emphasis was placed on the importance of a timely response in managing fires to prevent escalation and potential casualties.

This collaborative effort between the Kenyan and Indian troops reflects a strong commitment to enhancing operational readiness and safety within the mission area. The training aimed to build inter-operability between the two forces while ensuring that both teams are capable of responding to fire emergencies swiftly and effectively, preserving both personnel and resources in the event of a fire-related incident. The exercise successfully demonstrated their ability to handle such situations under pressure.
