KENYA NAVY 60-KILOMETER WALK CHALLENGE: CELEBRATING SIX DECADES OF SERVICE

On December 6, 2024, personnel from the Kenya Navy, including officers and service members, took part in a 60-kilometer walk in Mombasa. The event, which marked a prelude to the Navy’s 60th anniversary, symbolized the endurance, teamwork, and dedication that have defined the Kenya Navy over the years.

The walk was officially flagged off by Colonel Elijah Mbithi from Defence Headquarters, who emphasized the significance of the event in fostering teamwork and showcasing the Kenya Navy’s physical preparedness, particularly in its role of safeguarding Kenya’s maritime borders.

The route, which passed through the scenic coastal regions of Mombasa, Kwale, and Kilifi counties, offered a variety of terrain that tested participants’ stamina and resilience. This journey served as a testament to the enduring spirit and commitment of the Kenya Navy to excellence.

As participants neared the finish line, they celebrated their achievement, embodying the Kenya Navy’s core values of service and dedication to the nation. This 60th-anniversary milestone honors the Kenya Navy’s rich history while celebrating its ongoing commitment to ensuring the nation’s maritime security and sovereignty.
