KENYA AIR FORCE HOLDS GRADUATION CEREMONY

On March 21, 2025, the Kenya Air Force (KAF) celebrated the graduation of the inaugural Para Rescue Jumper Pipeline Course 01/24 and the Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) Course 04/24. The ceremony, presided over by the Base Commander Moi Air Base (MAB), Brigadier Benard Oluoch—representing the Commander KAF—highlighted KAF’s commitment to enhancing rapid response and precision air-to-ground operations.

After rigorous training, 10 airmen successfully completed the Para Rescue Jumper Course, mastering critical skills in combat medicine, weapons handling, survival, and personnel recovery in hostile environments. Their expertise ensures KAF remains at the forefront of battlefield rescue and personnel recovery operations.

Additionally, 12 specialists from the Kenya Defence Forces’ (KDF) three Services graduated from the JTAC Course. These experts will serve as the critical link between ground and air forces, enhancing precision in Close Air Support (CAS) operations. Notably, five graduates from the inaugural JTAC Course 01/23 have now qualified as instructors, further strengthening KDF’s ability to develop future talent in this specialized field.

Brigadier Oluoch commended the graduates for their resilience, discipline, and professionalism, emphasizing their vital role in advancing KAF and KDF operational excellence. He also praised the Kenya Air Force Training Wing instructors for their dedication, stating: “Your efforts ensure that the Kenya Air Force remains a highly capable and mission-ready force.”

He expressed deep appreciation to the U.S. Air Force Special Tactics Squadrons, the Air-Ground Integration (AGI) Program facilitators, and the Kenya United States Liaison Office (KUSLO) for their expert instruction. He noted that this collaboration continues to enhance KAF’s operational readiness while strengthening Kenya-U.S. defense ties.

Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Williams, Director of Operations for the Joint Special Operations Task Force – Somali, also congratulated the graduates, recognizing KAF’s commitment to fostering interoperability with allied forces. He highlighted the crucial role these newly trained specialists will play in enhancing joint operational effectiveness across regional security missions.

The graduates demonstrated their expertise during Exercise Justified Accord 2025 and the KDF Combined Arms Firepower Demonstration 2025, seamlessly integrating airpower into complex battlefield scenarios—proving their readiness for real-world missions.

This milestone reaffirms KAF’s dedication to excellence, ensuring its elite forces remain at the cutting edge of modern warfare and regional security.
