Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has joined the global community at the International Military Sports Council (CISM) Athletics Conference 2023 which is ongoing in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
With 139 member nations, CISM is one of the World’s largest multidisciplinary organizations. It unites athletes, coaches and enthusiasts from across the globe for a dynamic exchange of knowledge, experiences and sporting excellence.
Among the topics covered are the future vision for universal military development, sports medicine and the effects of climate change on athletes.
The conference also emphasises on the newly utilized equipment and tools in military sports sciences as well as the comprehensive physical readiness and its role in enhancing the combat performance of all armed forces.
Kenya’s Chief of Delegation at the conference is Colonel Benjamin Kiprop, Colonel Physical Recreation and Sports at Defence Headquarters. He is accompanied by Colonel Alfred Ole Nauwankas, Vice Chair AKDF and Lt Colonel Benjamin Kipkosgei, Staff Officer One Sports at Defence Headquarters.
