KDF PARTICIPATES IN A FREE MEDICAL CAMP AT MARIAKANI

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel stationed at Mariakani Garrison recently participated in a medical camp at Mabati Medical Centre in Mariakani, where they provided essential healthcare services to residents from Kilifi and Mombasa counties.

Over 1,500 patients received a variety of medical services, including Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) check-ups, cataract surgeries, dental services, general medical consultations, diabetic screening, and pharmaceutical care.
The camp was organized in partnership with multiple stakeholders, including Mariakani Garrison Hospital (MGH), led by Captain (Dr.) Paul Mureithi; Safal MRM Foundation; Lions Club of Mombasa; Mabati Medical Centre; Mariakani Sub-County Hospital; and medical students from Ghent University in Belgium, who are currently on an academic tour of hospitals in the Coast Region.

Under the leadership of Brigadier Joseph Mokwena from Mariakani Garrison and Engineer Paul Omondi, Head of Business at MRM Mariakani Plant, KDF personnel provided triage, general consultation, laboratory services, dental care, and pharmaceutical support.

Residents expressed their gratitude for the medical support and KDF’s commitment to community well-being. This initiative is part of KDF’s ongoing Humanitarian Civil Assistance (HCA) efforts, aimed at improving the health and well-being of citizens across Kenya.
