Today, 8 February 2023, Commander Operation Amani Boni (OAB) Col. Joel Tanui donated football kits and others sports gear to Mangai FC, a local football club in Lamu County.
Speaking to the football club members, Col Tanui praised the young men for coming together and building on a skill that is meaningful and assured them of OAB continued support.
On his part the team leader who is also the assistant chief Mr. Delo Nusura thanked KDF for its generosity and urged the County government to help the team score greater heights by exposing them to other football team in the country.
The Commander also toured Mangai primary school where OAB had initiated various infrastructure development to access its progress. He further assured the school community of OAB commitment in ensuring that learning is never disrupted. He additionally urged the young stars to get involved in co-curricular activities so as to evade being brainwashed by ill minded individuals “Troops operating under OAB will provide security for the school, teachers and pupils to ensure that this generation acquires knowledge and skills which will be of use in their lives.” He also said that OAB will work in Liason with Lamu county Government to ensure services are delivered to the people of Lamu.
During the same visit, Col Tanui also visited BPU troops at Mangai FOB in a bid to assess their operation readiness and also as a morale booster to the troops.
