On 2 April 2025, Kenya Defence Forces troops under Operation Amani Boni (OAB) conducted a Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activity at Bodhei Junction Village, Lamu County.
During the exercise, the troops donated foodstuffs and essential household items to the locals at Bodhei Junction Comprehensive School. This initiative aimed to strengthen the relationship between KDF and the local community while also celebrating Eid Ul-Fitr with the students and residents of Bodhei Junction Village.
The locals expressed their deep appreciation for the continued support from KDF, particularly in the areas of Health services, water supply and enhanced security within the region.
Community elders further encouraged the locals to maintain cooperation with security forces and to continue sharing critical security information through the support of National Police Reservists (NPRs) and community leaders.
The elders further expressed their appreciation for the ongoing LAPSSET (Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia Transport) Road project, which they viewed as a transformative development initiative bringing growth and opportunity to the region.
The CIMIC activity was successful in fostering goodwill, cooperation, and mutual trust between KDF and the local community. Such engagements continue to play a critical role in strengthening security efforts, enhancing stability, and promoting development in the region.
