On 21 March 2025, Moi Air Base (MAB) hosted officers from the Junior Joint Command and Staff Course (JJCSC) 100/25 as part of their ongoing training program to enhance their understanding of Air Force operations within the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).
The visit, led by Lieutenant Colonel Ambrose Macharia, aimed to provide the officers with a comprehensive overview of the Kenya Air Force’s structure, operations, and its critical role in national defense.
Upon arrival, the delegation was received by Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Njoroge, representing the Base Commander, Brigadier Bernard Oluoch. They were briefed on the Air Force’s formation, organization, and operational capabilities, covering key areas such as air operations, logistics, force readiness, and the strategic role of the Kenya Air Force in national and regional security.
Following the briefing, the officers toured various installations at Moi Air Base, where they observed advanced aircraft, operational procedures, and engaged with pilots, engineers, and other specialists. These interactions provided valuable insights into the technical and strategic aspects of air power.
Speaking during the visit, Lt Col Macharia emphasized the importance of inter-service collaboration and joint training among KDF branches. He highlighted how such engagements enhance interoperability, ensuring that officers develop a well-rounded perspective on modern warfare and national defense strategies.
The JJCSC officers expressed their appreciation for the warm reception and informative sessions, commending the professionalism and dedication of Kenya Air Force personnel. They acknowledged the Air Force’s significant role in safeguarding Kenya’s airspace and supporting joint KDF operations.
The visit reinforced the spirit of cooperation within the Kenya Defence Forces, fostering knowledge-sharing and strengthening operational synergy across formations.
