JOINT COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE VISITS UNITS, INDUSTRIES, AND DEPARTMENTS

In February and March, the Senior Joint Command and Staff Course 40-2024/2025 embarked on visits to various strategic installations across the country. Led by College Commandant Maj Gen Eric Kinuthia, the delegation, comprising faculty and course participants, gained valuable insights from their visits to a range of institutions.

The military units toured by the delegation included Moi Air Base, Laikipia Air Base, the 10 Engineers Brigade, Headquarters Eastern Command, and the Kenya Navy Headquarters based at Mtongwe. These visits provided participants with a deeper understanding of the importance of these critical installations in safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and sovereignty at all times.

In addition, the delegation visited several institutions and industries, including Associated Vehicle Assembly (AVA) Limited, Bulkstream Limited, Bamburi Cement Factory, Maramba Tea Factory, Kenya Coast Guard Services, Nairobi Stock Exchange, and Kenya Shipyard Limited.

The group also toured various state departments, such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Kenya Medical Research Institute, Kenya Ports Authority, Directorate of Budget, Fiscal Plan and Economic Affairs, Kenya Revenue Authority, the State Department of ICT and Digital Economy, the State Department for Industry, and the State Department for Medical Services.

The knowledge gained during these tours significantly enhanced the participants’ strategic understanding, particularly in the theme of “Enhancing Regional Security through Industrial Capacity Growth and Defence Partnerships.”
These visits were part of the comprehensive program at the College, designed to prepare participants for greater responsibilities in the future.

The delegation also included Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor Brig Gen David Chesire, various Heads of Departments at the College, senior officers, and course participants from both the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and allied countries.
