JCSC DELEGATION PAYS COURTESY VISIT ON SEYCHELLES HEAD OF STATE

The Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC), currently on a regional study tour themed ‘Enhancing Regional Security through Strengthening Industrial Capacity and Defence Partnership’, visited the Republic of Seychelles on Friday 21 March 2025. The delegation, led by the Deputy Commandant Brigadier David Chesire, was hosted by His Excellency President Wavel Ramkalawan at State House in Victoria.

During the visit, Brigadier Chesire extended his gratitude to the President for the warm welcome, noting the cordial relations between Kenya and Seychelles. He also expressed appreciation for the hospitality and support provided by various Seychelles institutions during the delegation’s stay.

In his remarks to the delegation, President Ramkalawan offered valuable counsel to the student officers, emphasizing the importance of focus, loyalty, and patriotism. “Remain true to your countries and your commitments,” said the President, encouraging the officers to remain dedicated to their roles in building a secure and prosperous future for their nations.

The event was also attended by senior officials, including the Chief of Defence Forces of the Seychelles People’s Defence Forces, Major General Michael Rosette and senior military officers.

The Kenyan delegation was accompanied by Colonel Lois Wataka, the Kenya Defence Attaché, faculty members and student officers from the JCSC. The student officers represented various African nations, including Kenya, Burundi, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zambia.
