Force Commander European Union Naval Force(EUNAVFOR) ATALANTA, Rear Admiral Davide Da Pozzo, along with a delegation from Italian Frigate LUIGE RIZZO, paid a courtesy call to the Deputy Commander Kenya Navy, Brigadier Sankale Kiswaa, at the Kenya Navy Headquarters, Mombasa.
The visit aimed at strengthening bilateral collaboration for opportunities and partnership and fostering safety and maritime security within Indian Ocean region.
During the visit, discussions cantered on the ongoing partnership and cooperation in addressing maritime security threats in the Indian Ocean region. Key areas of focus included capacity development, expanding opportunities for joint training, coordinated patrols, and promoting a rules-based order through a collective approach to combating illicit activities at sea.
Present during the visit were, Commander Kenya Navy Fleet (KNF), Brigadier Mohammed Shemote and Kenya Navy Chief of Operations, Colonel Philip Mulumba.
