The Commander Kenya Army, Lieutenant General David Tarus, joined Headquarters Kenya Army personnel for New Year celebrations on Wednesday, 8 January 2025, at Ngao Gardens. The event underscored the troops’ commitment to the motto “One Force, One Mission” while executing Kenya Army’s mandate and aimed at boosting their morale as they continue with their duties.
In his remarks, Lt. Gen. Tarus expressed gratitude to all Army personnel for their dedication and exceptional performance throughout 2024.
“I take this opportunity to register my utmost appreciation for the good work you continue to do. Your individual and collective contributions have ensured the Kenya Army fulfills its mandate both in operations and peacetime,” he said.
He emphasized the importance of upholding discipline, integrity, and continuous training to maintain high professionalism in the discharge of duties.
Deputy Army Commander Major General Mohamed Hassan echoed the sentiments on discipline, encouraging service personnel to support one another and embrace teamwork to achieve Kenya Army goals.
Additionally, the Kenya Army Sergeant Major (ASM), Warrant Officer Class One (WOI) Joel Murage, urged service personnel to reflect on the challenges of the past year, carry forward the lessons learned, and strengthen the bonds forged.
The Commander also conveyed a goodwill message from the Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), General Charles Kahariri. The message reaffirmed the Kenya Defence Forces’ (KDF) commitment to ensuring the Kenya Army remains well-resourced and continuously trained to meet evolving security demands.
The event was attended by Kenya Army Chiefs of Branches, Senior Officers, Officers, Service Members, and civilian staff.
