The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops of 23 Mechanized Infantry Battalion (MIB), stationed at IDIDO Forward Operating Base conducted a Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activity at ELLE BOR.
During the exercise, the troops donated foodstuffs to the locals. The event culminated in a football match between the troops and the locals.
The exercise was geared towards enhancing cohesion and good relationship and rapport between KDF and the local community.
The Officer Commanding Maj Cyrus Waweru Ngigi expressed appreciation to the locals for their support and further urged them to continue sharing critical security information with the security organs.
Community leadership through the area Chief, Mr. Godana Galgallo Abadhola acknowledged and appreciated KDF’s kind gesture and good rapport with the locals. He further gave an assurance of the community’s commitment towards eradication of clan militias and keeping the OLA at bay.
The CIMIC activity continues to play a critical role in strengthening security efforts, enhancing stability, and promoting peace in the region.
