East African Community Regional Force troops deployed at Kibumba on the evening of Thursday, 29 December 2022 assisted area locals to move their farm produce to Kibati area following a heavy downpour.
Over 70 local farmers who had harvested food at their farms in Kibumba faced the challenge of transporting the produce to Goma as they mostly depend on motorcycles that provide limited transport, especially when it rains.
They appreciated the good gesture from the EACRF troops and called on continued protection as they engage in their day-to-day activities.
The force urges the Internally Displaced Persons who are residents of Kibumba to return home as the EACRF troops deployed in the region continue providing security with the objective of achieving lasting peace and stability in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
