DFSM PARTICIPATES IN AFRICA SENIOR ENLISTED LEADER CONFERENCE 2024

The Kenya Defence Forces Sergeant Major (DFSM), WO1 Elijah Koranga, was among the distinguished panelists at the Africa Senior Enlisted Leader Conference (ASELC) 2024. The conference, which took place from September 9th and concluded today in Lilongwe, Malawi, saw the participation of more than 50 senior enlisted leaders from the U.S. and 30 African nations.

Hosted by the Malawi Defence Forces and U.S. Africa Command, the event provided a platform for senior non-commissioned officers (NCOs) to exchange best practices, discuss challenges, and strengthen partnerships. The attendees participated in briefings and breakout sessions, where they learned how various military forces are developing their NCO corps and explored ways to enhance their own programs.

This sixth edition of the annual ASELC marks the second time it has been held on the African continent, following last year’s event in Lusaka, Zambia. The conference continues to play a vital role in fostering collaboration, advancing NCO development, and building robust military partnerships across Africa.
