The Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral Parish today held a family harvest Thanksgiving Mass at the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), Hurlingam.
The mass was presided over by the Military Ordinariate Apostolic Administrator Col (Dr) Benjamin Maswili, the service was geared towards appreciating the importance and crucial role that the family structure plays, not only in the enrichment of a soldier’s wellbeing but also as a foundation for imbuing spiritual values that ultimately contribute towards enlightenment for all people. It also served as a platform to raise funds for the facilitation of the ongoing construction of a new church at the unit.
In his sermon, Col. (Dr) Maswili urged the congregation to uphold family values and ensure that they align with their spiritual values as well. He also touched on the importance of brotherhood and togetherness in faith between all Christians noting that a people united in faith could achieve anything regardless of obstacles.
Also at the function was the Chief Guest; Chief of Medical Services Headquarter Kenya Army, Brig J M Ndegwa, who reiterated the Apostolic Administrator’s sermon. He also encouraged the congregants to continue with the same zeal in building their faith.
