The Cabinet Secretary for Defence Ambassador (Dr) Monica Juma on Friday, 26th June 2020, paid a visit to Kenya Army Headquarters in Nairobi.
The purpose of the visit was to acquire a fuller appreciation of the Kenya Army service through a familiarisation tour, its organization and the current operational footprint within our borders and beyond.
In her speech, Amb. (Dr) Monica Juma applauded Kenya Army for being an elite service that is ready and efficient in dispensing its mandate. The CS further urged the soldiers to dedicate more of their time in serving the country.
“You cannot secure your Country if you are not patriotic, you should always remember that you are the guarantors of this nation,” the CS said.
Amb. (Dr) Juma also lauded the great work Kenya Army was doing against the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his remarks, the Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General Walter Koipaton said that the Army was strong and will continue to improve and enhance its capabilities to ensure that it is always ready to fulfill its obligations; to defend the Republic of Kenya against land-based aggression.
