DEFENCE ATTACHEE OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA VISITS KENYA NAVY

Defence Attachee (DA) of Republic of Korea (ROK), Lieutenant Colonel Paul Jang along with the Managing Director Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (MD KOTRA), Mr Sunmin Ko paid a courtesy call to the Commander Kenya Navy, Major General Paul Otieno at the Kenya Navy Headquarters on 07 April 2025.

Discussions during the meeting focused on several key topics, including the International Seapower Symposium (ISS), a forum where international naval leaders address maritime challenges and opportunities to improve global maritime security.

They also covered the upcoming Maritime Defence Exhibition (MADEX) 2025, which will showcase technology and capabilities in the maritime and defence industries. Additional topics included administrative arrangements and potential areas for future collaboration between the two navies.

The meeting helped foster mutual understanding and enhance operational synergy between the two navies, laying the groundwork for future collaboration. It provided an opportunity to identify shared goals and align strategies for addressing common maritime security challenges.

Also present during the meeting were, Deputy Commander Kenya Navy, Brigadier Sankale Kiswaa, Commander Kenya Navy Base Manda Bay, Brigadier Lazarus Wafula and Chief of Operations Kenya Navy Headquarters, Colonel Philip Mulumba.
