Defence Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale has today held talks with the Director of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT) Dr. Jehangir Khan who paid him a courtesy visit at the Defence Headquarters.
The CS appreciated the wide range of programs UNCCT has rolled out among them infrastructure protection, border security, cyber security and technologies, counter-violent extremism targeting the youths among other programs.
Hon. Duale outlined the commitment of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to fight terror, efforts that have been boosted by the creation of a regional UNCCT office in Nairobi to enhance the UN agenda to fight terrorism.
Dr. Jehangir acknowledged the role Kenya has played in combating terrorism in the region noting that the country has been a victim of terrorism-related activities in the past.
