The Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Defence, Hon. Soipan Tuya, today conducted an inspection tour of the ongoing Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Housing Project in Roysambu, Nairobi.
This project, a phased approach, is part of a broader initiative to address the housing shortage among KDF personnel, with a total of 3,069 modern and affordable housing units being constructed across various locations in the country.
Phase 1 of the project, which includes both single-line and married quarters, is progressing well, with 59% of the work already completed. The entire project is expected to be finished by June 2025.
CS Tuya who was accompanied by Principal Secretary Dr. Patrick Mariru, was briefed on the project’s status before embarking on a guided tour of the construction site. The Ministry of Defence remains committed to prioritizing the welfare of KDF personnel through such initiatives.
