COMMANDER KENYA NAVY FLEET WINDS UP SPECIAL BOATS OPERATOR’S TRAINING

Commander Kenya Navy Fleet Brigadier John Kiswa on 19th may 2022 presided over the graduation ceremony of Special Boats Operators (SBO) at Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe in Mombasa County.

In his speech, Brigadier Kiswa congratulated the graduands and the course instructors for successfully completing the training and encouraged the graduates to utilize the skills they gained in their deployments.

‘‘To achieve your mission as Special Boats Operators, you will require all the skills that you’ve been taught here. Ensure you put what you’ve learnt into practice when carrying out your tasks,’’ said the Fleet Commander.

Speaking on behalf of the Kenya Naval Training College (KNTC) Commandant, the College Administration Officer Major Wallace Muhoro commended the graduands for their achievement and stated that KNTC will continue providing continuous training to Kenya Navy personnel to achieve mission readiness.

23 participants drawn from different Kenya Navy Formations attended the three-months intensive training that involved both classroom and field work in which basic seamanship, search and rescue operations, interdiction of maritime lines of communication and surveillance, and deception operations were taught.

The graduates were awarded with certificates of course completion and had the Special Boats Unit Insignia bestowed on them during in the ceremony.
