The Commander Kenya Air Force (KAF), Major General Fatuma Ahmed, visited both the Mombasa and Mariakani Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) today, August 7, 2024. The visit was primarily to bolster soldiers’ morale and to continue inspecting the bases and formations under her command.
During her visit, Maj Gen Ahmed inspected various establishments and engaged with the military personnel to explore ways to optimize the operability of the FOBs, mainly to assess the structural and operational readiness of these bases.
The visit also provided a platform for her to interact with the service personnel. She commended them for their discipline and performance, acknowledging their contributions to the Kenya Air Force’s core mandate.
In her speech, Maj Gen Ahmed reiterated the vision of the KAF emphasizing the importance of delivering air defense 24/7. She urged everyone to conduct self-assessments to determine their contributions towards effective service delivery in line with the mission and vision of the KAF and the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) at large.
“Leadership is about change management,” she added, encouraging the personnel to exercise diligence and discipline as they have been entrusted with critical service delivery responsibilities.
Additionally, Comd KAF reinforced strategic objectives and operational priorities to soldiers ensuring the soldiers maintain a cohesive, motivated, and effective fighting force.
