On 3rd December 2024, Major General Fatuma Ahmed, Commander of the Kenya Air Force (KAF), paid her inaugural visit to Embakasi Air Base (EAB). She was warmly received by the Base Commander, Brigadier Steven Kapkory, along with officers, airmen and airwomen stationed at the base.
EAB, one of the recent bases of Kenya Air Force, plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive combat transport services to the nation’s military. It also supports civil authorities when needed, ensuring safe and seamless transportation operations.
During her visit, Major General Ahmed was briefed on the base’s operations, challenges, and upcoming projects. She also took time to inspect various departments and infrastructure, including ongoing developments at the base.
Addressing the airmen and airwomen, the Commander commended the achievements of Embakasi Air Base, commending the Base’s operational readiness and the overall progress of the Kenya Air Force. She expressed her appreciation for the commitment of the personnel, noting that despite being a relatively new Base, within KAF, EAB had made significant strides.
“I acknowledge and deeply appreciate the efforts being made at Embakasi Air Base. I urge you to maintain the spirit of safeguarding our national airspace,” said Major General Ahmed.
The Commander also underscored the importance of discipline, professionalism, and teamwork, which are central to her leadership philosophy. She encouraged personnel to embody a spirit of giving during the festive season and remain vigilant in their duties.
