COMMANDER KAF GRACES STRATHMORE GRADUATION CEREMONY

On 6th December 2024, Commander Kenya Air Force (KAF), Major General (Maj Gen) Fatuma Ahmed, was the chief guest at an Executive Education Graduation Ceremony at Strathmore University.

Themed “Legacy Leadership: Redefining Your Impact,” the event celebrated the achievements of over 2,600 graduands from more than 25 countries, who successfully completed their programs across various fields.

Maj Gen Ahmed was received by Dr. Caesar Mwangi, Executive Dean of Strathmore Business School, who praised her leadership and highlighted the symbolic significance of her presence at the ceremony.

In her address, Maj Gen Ahmed commended the graduates for their hard work, perseverance, and dedication. She emphasized the vital role of education in national development, particularly in sectors like technology, business, and innovation. She also stressed the importance of balancing intelligence quotient (IQ) with emotional quotient (EQ), both of which she noted are essential for effective leadership and creating a lasting impact. Quoting Aristotle, she remarked, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.”

Maj Gen Ahmed’s presence at the ceremony underscored the strong synergy between the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and academic institutions in shaping the nation’s future. She encouraged the graduands to lead with purpose and integrity, wishing them joyous festive celebrations.

In his remarks, Dr. Mwangi acknowledged the significant contributions of military leaders in promoting professionalism, discipline, and strategic thinking. He commended the KDF for their collaboration with educational institutions to develop leaders who are well-equipped to make meaningful contributions to both the public and private sectors.

The graduating class of the Executive Education program received certificates in a range of disciplines, including Managing Healthcare Businesses, the Global Chief Executive Officers Program, and the Women Directors Leadership Program. These programs are designed to equip leaders with the skills necessary to drive innovation and sustainable growth in their respective fields.
