Vice-Chief of the Defence Forces (VCDF), Lieutenant General John Omenda on Tuesday 25 February 2025 hosted Major General Sebastian Vallette, the Commander French Armed Forces Base in Djibouti and his delegation, at the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi.
During their discussions, the VCDF highlighted the long-standing cordial relations between Kenya and France, where over the years, the two countries have witnessed growth in cooperation, particularly in defence.
He highlighted KDF’s active role in international, regional, and internal peace support operations and its contribution to the global counter-terrorism war.
Major General Vallette promised France’s fidelity towards enhancing combined efforts between the two countries’ forces.
The two leaders also discussed the pending defence cooperation agreement between the two countries.
The French delegation will also visit the National Defence College (NDC) and the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC).
Accompanying the VCDF was Brigadier Samwel Kimani; Chief of Strategic Plans and Policy, among other Senior Officers.
