COMMANDER COMBINED TASK FORCE 150 VISITS KENYA NAVY

Commodore Asim Sohail Malik, Commander of Combined Task Force 150 (CTF 150) from the Pakistan Navy, paid a courtesy call on Brigadier Sankale Kiswaa, Deputy Commander of the Kenya Navy, at the Kenya Navy Headquarters in Mtongwe.

The visit highlighted the importance of fostering collaboration and strengthening ties between Kenya and Pakistan under the framework of the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF).

CTF 150’s primary mandate is to combat smuggling, particularly involving narcotics, arms, and charcoal, within its area of responsibility in the Arabian Sea.

During their discussions, the two commanders exchanged views on key topics, including Kenya’s participation in Operation Himalayan Spirit, which was conducted from October 8 to October 14, 2024. The operation involved the active deployment of the Kenya Navy Ship (KNS) SHUJAA.

They also explored opportunities for the Kenya Navy to enhance its support for CMF operations through direct engagement or associated support mechanisms.
