COMMANDER COMBINED JOINT TASK FORCE – HORN Of AFRICA VISITS KENYA NAVY BASE MANDA BAY

Commander Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF HOA), Major General Brian Cashman, visited Kenya Navy Base (KNB) Manda Bay on 27 March 2025.

The visit aimed to underscore the importance of a joint security approach in achieving mission success while strengthening bilateral relations between U.S. forces at Camp Simba and KNB Manda Bay.

Major General Cashman was welcomed by the Commander KNB Manda Bay, Brigadier Lazarus Wafula. Discussions centred on key areas of cooperation and partnership, focusing on enhancing existing relationships and identifying opportunities for further collaboration.

During his visit, Major General Cashman witnessed the ongoing three-day Base Defense Exercise (BDEX), a joint training effort involving KNB Manda Bay, Camp Simba, and Operation Amani Boni (OAB), set to conclude on 28 March, 2025.

Major General Cashman was accompanied by members of CJTF HOA’s senior leadership.
