COMMANDANT JOINT COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE, KAREN ATTENDS THE 18TH AFRICAN CONFERENCE OF COMMANDANTS

The Commandant JCSC, Karen, Maj Gen E M Kinuthia attended the 18th African Conference of Commandants (ACoC) at the Libyan Command and Staff College in Tripoli, Libya from 3 to 5 November 2024.

ACoC is an organization that brings together African Staff Colleges with a vision of enhancing military professionalism in Africa through Education, Training and Development of Officers in African Staff Colleges. ACoC has a Chairperson who is the Commandant of the host Command and Staff College with a tenure of one year.

This year’s conference, chaired and hosted by Libya was opened by Gen Mohamed Ali Al Haddad, the Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Armed Forces. Delegations from 20 African Countries attended the 3 day conference which brings together African Command and Staff Colleges with the aim of enhancing military cooperation.

His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Libya, Abdul Hamid Mohamed Al Dubayba also graced the conference and witnessed the handover between the outgoing Chairperson of ACoC Commodore Maghidr Nouri Ahmed, Commandant of the Libyan Command and Staff College and the incoming Chairperson Brigadier Andrew Nyamvumba, the Commandant of the Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College.
