CDF OPENS THE MILITARY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CONFERENCE

The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla today opened this year’s Military Christian Fellowship of Kenya (MCFK) Conference at the Kenya School of Government in Nairobi under the theme; “Building Spiritual Synergy for a Mission Ready Force”.

MCFK is a member of Association of Military Christian Fellowship (AMCF) which is the international umbrella bringing together Christian outreaches across various countries with an aim of spreading the word of God to service personnel and their families through fellowshipping together, witnessing and prayers.

In his address, Gen Ogolla appreciated the delegates for convening to this Conference and reminded them to continue serving with integrity and commitment where they have been entrusted to.

“Our actions truly make significant impacts to those around us and count in the lives of others. We should therefore observe whatever we do and do it with diligence,” said the CDF.

MCFK Patron, Major General David Tarus who is also the Deputy Commander – Kenya Army acknowledged that MCFK has made an immense impact in KDF troops over the years saying the conference is a critical platform to share experiences the amongst participants.

Some of the topics discussed were the role of MCFK in developing Christian leaders, impact of war to the soldiers’ families and faith, role of the chaplaincy in the military, war/ trauma and effects, family, marriage and law and contemporary issues affecting family among others.

Also present were Kenya Air Force Commander Major General John Omenda, General Officers (both serving and retired), senior officers, MWAK Chairlady, Mrs. Aileen Ogolla and regional delegates from Tanzania and Uganda.
