The Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), General Charles Kahariri, hosted the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, H.E. Nicol Adamcova, and the Czech Republic Director General for Industrial Cooperation Division, Ms. Radka Konderlova, at the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi today.
The leaders engaged in bilateral talks focusing on strategic cooperation and enhancing the defence partnership between Kenya and the Czech Republic. General Kahariri emphasized the strong friendship and strategic partnership between the two nations across various sectors. He noted that the Kenya-Czech Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA), which had been previously discussed, now awaits Cabinet approval before being presented to the National Assembly for ratification. Once ratified, the DCA will facilitate collaboration in areas such as Research and Development, Counterterrorism, Education and Training, and Military Sports.
In a separate meeting, Ambassador Nicol and the Czech delegation were received by the Director General of the Defence National Security Industries, Major General Benard Waliaula. In the subsequent deliberations, Maj Gen Waliaula expressed appreciation for the ongoing bilateral cooperation and highlighted the potential for industrial and technological collaboration. He stressed that joint efforts in defence industry capabilities could promote innovation and sustainability in areas such as Defence Equipment and Technology, Infrastructure Development, Military Healthcare Services, Aerospace Technology, and Environmental Safety.
Ms. Konderlova reaffirmed the Czech Republic’s commitment to strengthening industrial relations and technological transfer, which she said would be instrumental in fostering economic growth for both nations.
