The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops, operating under Operation Amani Boni (OAB) and stationed at Bulagalol Forward Operating Base (FOB) conducted Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities reaching over 500 households in villages of Bulagalol, Eda, Hajijime, Muftu, Gumarey, and Harere, within Bura East Sub-County, Garissa County.
The troops distributed food and water to communities facing water scarcity due to a prolonged drought in the region. The aid is particularly significant as it supports local residents during Iftar and Suhoor in the ongoing Holy Month of Ramadan.
In addition to the food and water distribution, KDF medical teams provided essential healthcare services to the community as well as engaged with local key leaders to discuss security concerns in the region. According to local leadership, there has been a notable decrease in Al-Shabaab threats and attacks, thanks to the ongoing collaboration between the KDF, other security agencies and locals.
Major Griffin Analo reassured residents of the KDF’s continued commitment to their safety.
“Civilian protection remains our focus, and with your continued help we shall continue to improve on security in this area.”
The community support initiative highlights KDF’s dedication to not only securing the region but also supporting the well-being of local communities.
