On Friday, March 21, 2025, St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church in Kahawa Garrison hosted the Diocesan Catholic Men’s Apostolate (CMA) Mass, coinciding with the Solemnity of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary. The service was led by the Rt. Reverend Bishop Wallace Ng’ang’a, Bishop of the Military Ordinariate of Kenya.
In his sermon, Bishop Ng’ang’a urged men to emulate the strength, humility, and devotion of St. Joseph, encouraging them to wholeheartedly embrace their roles as pillars of their families.
“The family is the foundation of our society, where values are nurtured, and dreams take flight. Dedicate yourselves to your families, for they are your legacy, your sanctuary, and your greatest blessing from the Lord. Be custodians of righteousness, guide those who stumble, and let compassion and unity be the cornerstone of your actions,” he said.
He further emphasized perseverance and faith in times of adversity, reminding the soldiers that their journey would not always be smooth, nor would their efforts always be recognized.
Kahawa Garrison Commander, Brigadier Matthew Lenamunai, echoed the bishop’s sentiments, underscoring the vital role of faith in the lives of military personnel.
“Our duties demand immense sacrifice, but spiritual nourishment gives us strength, purpose, and resilience. I commend the Bishop for his unwavering leadership and dedication to ministering to our soldiers and their families,” he stated.
The CMA Mass was a testament to the profound bond between service to God, devotion to family, and dedication to one’s country. It underscored the sacred duty of harmonizing these pillars of life, reminding all present that faith fortifies the spirit, family anchors the heart, and service upholds the nation’s integrity. This gathering served as a call for renewed commitment to upholding these values with unwavering resolve and purpose.
