The Kenya Defence Forces medical personnel from 20 Parachute Battalion stationed at Chesitet Military camp in Baringo County operating under ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’ in unison with Medical Missions Africa (MEMA), conducted a one day free medical camp at Chesitet.
The exercise saw the medics visit Chesitet Primary School in Chesitet and Chesakam area where the residents benefited from free medical services such as general medical check-ups, screening of non-communicable diseases, breast cancer screening by physical examination, eye and dental check-ups and treatment of patients.
They were also educated on hygiene and sanitation, proper nutrition, the importance of antenatal care, clinic visits and birth preparedness. The medical team managed to treat more than 300 patients majority of whom were women and children. The area residents expressed their gratitude to the KDF and MEMA initiative of providing free medical services to them.
The free medical camp is among the Civilian Military activities being conducted by the Multi agency operation team in the North Rift, fostering good relations between the security officers and the residents in the operation area.
