DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Human Resource Management and Development (HRM&D) is responsible for management of the Ministry’s Civilian Staff Component. Specific functions include;

  • Interpretation and implementation of Government human resource management and development policies and circulars and ensuring compliance;
  • Development, review and implementation of Ministerial HR policies and strategic plans;
  • Budgeting for personal emoluments and ensuring efficient payroll management
  • General HR administration services
  • Recruitment, Appointment, deployment, career management and disciplinary control of civilian staff
  • Management of staff training and development
  • Coordination of staff supervision and performance management
  • Human resource planning, compliment control and review of the staff establishment
  • Custody of personnel records
  • Management of employee welfare, health, safety and wellness
  • Coordination of the Ministerial Human Resource committees
