SENIOR JOINT COMMAND AND STAFF COURSE 40 VISITS LAIKIPIA AIR BASE AND KAKUZI PLC

As part of their training programme, participants of the Senior Joint Command and Staff Course 40 2024/2025, conducted educational visits to Laikipia Air Base and Kakuzi PLC.

On Thursday, 20 February 2025, the delegation visited Laikipia Air Base. They were received by the Base Commander, Brigadier Mohammed Farah, along with senior officers. During the visit, the participants were briefed on the Base’s functions and the Aviation Centre of Excellence before proceeding to a static display showcasing various aircraft and operational platforms. This visit provided valuable insights into Kenya’s air operations and defence capabilities.

In a separate engagement, the Commandant of the Joint Command and Staff College, Karen, Major General E. M. Kinuthia, led the delegation on a visit to Kakuzi PLC. They were welcomed by the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Christopher Flowers, and taken on an extensive tour of the facility. The visit highlighted Kakuzi PLC’s role in Kenya’s economy and food security, offering participants a deeper understanding of the country’s agricultural sector and agribusiness capacity.

These visits are integral to the College’s training programme, exposing participants including representatives from the fifteen allied nations to Kenya’s strategic industries, military operations, and economic landscape.
