KDF TROOPS CONSTRUCT WATER PAN AT SARIRA VILLAGE

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops deployed to secure the LAPSSET road project under the Operation Amani Boni (OAB) framework, recently finalised the construction a water pan at Sarira village in Fafi Constituency, Garissa County. This initiative aims to significantly alleviate the persistent water shortage that has long affected the local community.

For years, the residents of Sarira have struggled with severe water scarcity, a major challenge in the region. The newly constructed water pan will provide a crucial water source for both domestic use and livestock, improving livelihoods and enhancing resilience against drought.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony, Major Julius Ngolesia urged the community to support KDF’s efforts and other national development projects. He reaffirmed that such initiatives, beyond their security objectives, are designed to foster development and improve the quality of life for local populations.

Expressing his gratitude on behalf of the community, Area Assistant Chief Mr. Ahmed Rabe lauded the efforts of the KDF troops, emphasizing that the project would bring much-needed relief to the villagers.

Mr. Rabe and other local leaders welcomed the initiative and called upon the residents to support the ongoing LAPSSET road project, noting that it would bring essential infrastructure, economic opportunities, and overall development closer to the community.

This project underscores KDF’s commitment to both security and community development, reinforcing its role in enhancing national stability while improving the welfare of local populations.
