Defence Forces Recruits Training School (DFRTS) hosted a one-day welfare seminar for Eldoret region based units. The seminar was officially opened by the Comdt DFRTS, Brig John Kipya.
The participants were drawn from all KDF units within Eldoret together with representatives of their family members as well as service personnel attending the Platoon Sergeants Course at DFRTS.
Dr Jane Kariuki, an external facilitator, took the participants through marital counselling in the military, advising them on how to navigate the military work-life & family life without losing focus of any of the two.
The participants were also taken through pre – and post deployment counselling as well as mental health awareness by medical personnel from Eldoret Regional Hospital.
The participants thanked the KDF leadership through the Commandant DFRTS for organizing the seminar and recommended more of such seminars be organized on a regular basis whenever the situation permits.
