A delegation from the 54th Pakistan Navy Staff Course visited Kenya Navy (KN) Headquarters and the Kenya Shipyards Limited (KSL) Mombasa, on 25 February 2025.
During the visit, the head of the delegation, Commodore Ehsan Ahmed Khan, paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Commander Kenya Navy, Brigadier Sankale Kiswaa, at his office. During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged insights on shared maritime security challenges and explored avenues for future partnerships in addressing maritime issues of mutual concern in the Indian Ocean.
The delegation was also briefed on the strategic roles and organizational structure of Kenya Navy at the Kenya Navy Headquarters. After the briefing, the delegation visited the Kenya Naval Training College and was taken through the College Training Capabilities including the Full Mission Bridge Simulator (FMBS). The FMBS, the delegation was informed, is instrumental in providing cutting-edge navigational training for KN personnel and other maritime partners.
The delegation also visited the Kenya Shipyards Limited (KSL) and was briefed on the Shipyard’s operations and capabilities, including ship construction, repair, maintenance, and refit of ships and other maritime vessels.
Present during the visit were Commander Kenya Navy Fleet, Brigadier Mohamed Shemote, Commander Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe, Brigadier Abraham Biwott, senior officers and officers.
