The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Robert Kibochi on 21st July 2022 presided over the investiture of ranks to the newly promoted General Officers.
The ceremony which was held at the Defence Headquarters took place following the announcement of promotions and appointments by His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces on 20th July 2022.
In his congratulatory remarks, General Kibochi hailed the officers for their commitment and hard work.
“These newly promoted officers have met the required merits and I have no doubt that they are able to drive the Kenya Defence Forces’ mission further with vigour,” he affirmed.
He assured the newly promoted Officers of his unwavering support in their areas of responsibility to enable them effectively achieve the set mission and vision of their departments with minimal challenges.
He further encouraged them to embrace unity of purpose and new ideas to conform with the current security complexity in the security environment.
Among those promoted is Kenya Army Major General Peter Mbogo Njiru to Lieutenant General who has been appointed Commander Kenya Army, following the retirement of Lieutenant General Walter Koipaton after completion of four years tour of duty.
